In 2018, Timo established TisaMayo International Consultancy and activated a network of trusted partners with whom he provides best-practice-based risk management consultancy services to clients all over the world. He founded Critical Risk Consultants (CRC) and serves as Executive Director of Operations for Prosectra Ltd.

Timo specializes in managing risks in international high-risk environments, critical incident management, kidnap-for-ransom incident management and specialist training. Timo has managed specialist teams in these fields for several decades. He served in senior positions with the Netherlands Police, the European Union and the United Nations and has created an extensive network of risk management partners in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America. 

After completing the international hostage negotiation program at Scotland Yard, Timo worked for 28 years as a senior hostage negotiator and kidnap incident manager throughout the world. He is the director of the unique Kidnap for Ransom Incident Management Programme KRIM™, which has since 2021 certified kidnap incident managers for more than 20 global organizations. Timo is known for his cutting-edge simulation and scenario-based trainings, aimed at bolstering personal and organizational excellence through creating effective responses to crisis incidents.  

Timo has led award-winning change management projects and is the leading voice in TisaMayo's humanistic approach to risk management related to adapting businesses to the challenges of the 21st century. He has led Board of Inquiries, business evaluation teams and several after-action review panels. He coaches internal oversight teams on how to use best practices in applying integrity strategies.

Timo is a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and an alumnus of the Police Academy in the Netherlands. He speaks Dutch, English, and German and is conversant in French and Swedish.
